Nursery in Kentish Town

For families in Kentish Town, Caversham Nursery offers genuine convenience without compromise. Located on Caversham Road, we are just a short walk from Kentish Town tube and overground stations, making the morning routine remarkably straightforward. With one of the largest nursery gardens in the area and a curriculum that includes weekly yoga and hands-on vegetable growing, children here do more than prepare for school. They develop a real love of learning.

Why families choose us

Our approach

Caversham is a nursery where children grow vegetables, help cook them, and serve up their own signature roast potatoes with rosemary. Weekly yoga and football are woven into the curriculum rather than offered as paid extras. The garden attached to the pre-school room is one of the largest in the area, designed for proper muddy play and outdoor discovery. Ofsted inspectors noted the strong emotional bonds between staff and children, and praised how well practitioners support communication and early literacy. This is a place where school readiness means confidence, curiosity and genuine capability.

In practice

The team at Caversham has been together for years, which means consistency for your child and real expertise in supporting families through every stage from six months to school entry. Settling in is handled gradually, with practitioners taking time to understand each child's rhythms and needs. We accept government funded hours and remain open all year round, including school holidays, so working parents never face unexpected gaps in care. Structured naptimes and dedicated dark areas ensure even the smallest babies get the rest they need.

For families in Kentish Town

Kentish Town families tend to value substance over show, and Caversham reflects that sensibility. There is no flashy branding here, just a warm, well-run nursery where children are known individually and parents are kept genuinely informed. The location works brilliantly for commuters heading into central London or those working locally who want flexibility across the week. Whether you need full-time care or a few days around freelance work, the all-year-round hours and experienced team make juggling family life considerably easier.

What local parents say

Nothing tells you more about a nursery than the families who are already there.

  • Our two daughters, aged 3 and 1, currently attend Caversham Nursery and we couldn’t be happier with their care. Noorjahan and the team provide a warm, nurturing environment where our daughters feel safe and excited to learn. We really appreciate how the nursery fosters creativity and exploration, with daily outdoor activities that allow our girls to experience nature and try new things.

  • My experience at Caversham Nursery has been nothing less than Amazing. My daughter went to the nursery and from day one she loved every moment and was so excited to go again every day. My son joined a year later, at first found it a little hard to settle but the Class team found what his interest were and every start of the day they had his favorite activities ready for him to come in and join. Both my children now love gardening, doing various activities and have made so many friends (when we asked, they both said their teachers were the first friends they made).

  • Since my daughter has been born, saying goodbye to this nursery has been one of the hardest things I've had to do. The staff are all so amazing, they truly care about the children and help them to reach their full potential. I'm so glad they have been apart of my daughters story. I highly recommend this nursery and hope to be able to return one day! ❤️
